Packing for a cruise

Whether you are a seasoned cruiser or a newbie itching to get on the open seas, packing well is a must. Depending on the sort of cruise you are going on, you will need a variety of styles of clothing. Some cruises are more laid back and casual clothing is fine, but some of the larger cruises expect evening wear for dinner in their restaurants. Do your research, find out what type of cruise you are going on to ensure you take all the essentials with you.

Check what facilities are available in your cabin, do you need to take a hairdryer with you? You may not know this but some cruise liners have hairdressers and barbers on board, so you don’t even have to worry about having perfect hair all the time. Some cruise ships are really large, like the MSC Meraviglia which has the capacity for 5,700 guests, so they are sure to be prepared to meet the needs of their guests. Smaller cruise ships may be limited in certain facilities.

When you pack your case you should roll your clothes to cut down on creases, also it saves space. Make sure you use all spare spaces too, so tuck socks inside shoes and use packing cases which are an amazing space saver.

it is worth remembering that you can buy a range of items on board, including clothing, and you will be able to shop once you hit the ports, but having things with you will make sure you avoid disappointment in case you cant get what you need elsewhere. Items that will be readily available to buy on the trip, so you have no urgent need to pack them include items like sun cream and toiletries such as toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and shampoo and conditioner. You can save room in your suitcase for souvenirs!
